In his first game at the helm of the club, Kayode Akeju led North York FC to their first win of the 2021 Fusion Football Championship, a 2-1 defeat of FC L-Mirado.
The win on Saturday was North York’s first in five matches with the team having drawn two and lost two of their previous four games.
Speaking after the match, Kayode said the win was down to hard work and some tactical shuffle.
“I think it’s hard work and some tactical work into the team. I think that is what really helped us to get the three points today.” Kayode told Sports247.
“There were some issues within the team that I think caused the poor performances and some other technical issues of which I don’t know. But coming in we have to work on those areas so that they can be a better team.
He later added: “We want to be one of the best teams in the league, to among the first four that will play the Super 4 tournament.”
