Secretary General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Tunde Popoola has assured that Nigerians should expect the best from the athletes that will be competing in this year’s Youth Olympic Games in Argentina.
Popoola while speaking to Sports247.ng noted that these set of athletes are the most disciplined bunch the country has ever produced.
He guaranteed that the athletes will come back with medals from the competition but couldn’t the number he is expecting from them.
“Nigerians should expect a good outing from the athletes at the Youth Olympic Games. The should expect the best. The athletes are well grounded and conditioned to outshine their contemporaries in Argentina,” the confident Tunde Popoola declared to Sports247.ng.
“These athletes have made discipline their watchword. They usually show humility on and off the sport. They are most disciplined set of athletes Nigeria has ever produced.”
“Nigeria will definitely expect medals from the team. They have what what it takes to go far in their various events. I don’t want set targets. But they will win many medals.”
