Secretary general of Nigeria Olympic Committee, Tunde Popoola has tipped the country’s contingent to this year’s Youth Olympics in Argentina to return home with a haul of medals.
Popoola said at the send forth ceremony for the contingent that he is sure all the athletes and their coaches know what is at stake and assured that they will go all out to make the country proud.
Sports247.ng gathered further that Popoola said Nigerians should be optimistic and expect the best from the athletes in Argentina.
Popoola pointed out that the country’s current set of athletes are the most disciplined Nigeria has ever produced, and guaranteed that the athletes will return with medals from the Youth Olympiad.
‘I am sure that this set of young athletes will make Nigeria proud in Argentina,” Popoola stressed.
“They showed a high level of discipline during their preparations in Nigeria and, coupled with adequate training from their coaches and good preparations by the ministry, I am sure they will win medals for Nigeria.”
