Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC) will on Thursday hold the second phase of its investiture of patrons in Abuja.
Sports247.ng can report that Thursday’s event, which is for patrons from the northern part of the country, will hold at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja.
It is in continuation of a similar exercise conducted at Elegushi Palace in Lagos a fortnight ago, when five personalities were decorated.
At the Lagos event, Mrs Kofo Nwokedi, Sir Marc Wabara, Emmanuel Uduaghan, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Oba S.A. Elegushi were inducted as patrons of the body.
Six Nigerians who would be honoured in Abuja include ex-Nigeria Football Association (NFA) president, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima as well as Bauchi State governor, Mohammed AbdullahiAbubakar.
Others are the wife of Kebbi State governor, Zainab Bagudu, Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba; Major General Adamu Dyeri (rtd) and Bashari Mohammed Gumel.
NOC president, Habu Gumel, said: “The role and duties of our distinguished patrons, whom we are inaugurating are majorly advisory and ambassadorial.
“We shall from time to time defer to your high offices with a view to seeking your advice or guidance.
“Also to take advantage of your wealth of experience or connectivity to further strengthen our operations and the delivery of our common Olympic Movement objectives.”
