Augustine Eguavoen has denied saying that torrential rainfall affected the performance of the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw against Benin Republic on Thursday, Sports247 reports.
The Super Eagles struggled to hit their element in 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played in Abidjan on Thursday, 14 October 2024, and managed to stage a late comeback having chased the game from more than one hour.
Benin Republic took the lead in the 16th minute through Mohammed Tijani before Victor Osimhen restored parity in the 82nd minute to save the day for the Super Eagles despite their general dismal performance.
