Nigeria National League (NNL) chairman, Chidi Offor has showed gratitude to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for making the NNL Super 8 a reality.
Eight sides, made up of teams who finished as Group winners and runners up in the Northern and Southern Conference were placed into two groups of four each.
The top two of each zone qualifies for next season’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) which will get underway next weekend.
The Super 8 got underway on Sunday with Gombe United and Kogi United playing out an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Enyimba International Stadium.
Offor thanked the NFF for their support in making sure that the tournament became a reality.
“I want to start by thanking the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Mr Melvin Amaju Pinnick, Executive Committee and the Secretariat for making it possible for teams to converge for the Super 8.”
He continued: “We have done what is expected in terms of organization of the tournament.
“We are expecting the gladiators to do the needful, which is delivery of the very best.”
“When the promoted teams gets to the NPFL they should be able to compete and not just participate,” he added.
