I am also an executive member of the NNL, so I know how challenging it’s been trying to organize this tournament, but today, we have not only organized it but have set a record as well.
I can also assure you that the current NNL executives will continue to improve on the standards of the game.”
Mailantarki, a former Member of the House of Representatives for Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye constituencies, has a strong background in sports and politics.
He founded the Mailantarki Football Care Academy in 2021, which has successfully transferred young Nigerian talents to European clubs and participated in international tournaments like the Denmark Dana and Norway Cups, winning both in 2022.
The academy is also set to compete in the 2024 editions of these tournaments.
Highlighting the club’s achievements, Mailantarki revealed plans to complete a world-class sports complex in Abuja, aimed at fostering sports development.
Meanwhile, the NNL Super 8 playoff has seen Nasarawa United FC and El-Kanemi Warriors FC from the Northern conference, and Ikorodu City FC and Beyond Limits FC from the Southern conference, secure promotion to the NPFL for the next season.
