Following the conclusion of the Nigeria National League Super 4 tournament, Bayelsa State Governor, Duoye Diri has expressed his satisfaction over the level of officiating as he further enjoined Nigerian league organizers to keep up with the level of fairness for the growth and development of the country’s football and talents.
Douye made this comments after Bendel Insurance were crowned champions, emerging winners with a unbeaten record having won two games, a draw and no loss in three games and having the most points on the log, seven.
“I witnessed the first half and I’m happy with the level of officiating. I have been around the football arena for quiet sometime from not even when I became commissioner for sports, it was long before then,” he stated.
“One of our major problems in Nigerian football has been officiating and from what I saw, it appeared that players are begining to find solutions and I like to commend the central referee, line and assistant referees for what they have done so far.”
“I like them to keep it up and I like the NNL to keep it up. The moment we overcome the issues about officiating in Nigeria football, the sky is not our limit. We will continue to send out talents because there are talents that abound in this country and I’m sure this competition again will show that,” Douye enjoined.
