NNL Expels Lagos-Based 1472 FC from Ongoing NNL25 Season

The Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria’s second-tier football league, has officially expelled Lagos-based club, 1472 FC, from the ongoing 2024/2025 NNL season (NNL25).

The expulsion comes after the club failed to honor three consecutive league fixtures against Abia Comets, Dakkada FC, and Ijele United FC.

This violation is considered a serious breach of league regulations.

1472 FC, which was relegated at the end of last season, but find a way round the situation and returned to the NNL25 campaign.

However, their recent conduct has led to their removal from the competition and all points won and lost by the team becomes null and void.

Further decisions regarding possible sanctions are expected to be communicated by the NNL board in due course as the new league table without the team is expected to be published soon.
