The Nigeria National League (NNL) has rejected Rovers of Calabar’s petition, which sought a three-point and three-goal victory against Abakaliki FC over allegations of fielding an unregistered player, Johnson Umeh, in their matchday five clash at the Pa-Oruta Ngele Stadium in Abakaliki.

The NNL found no evidence to substantiate the claim, as Umeh did not participate in the match and was not listed in the league’s registration portal.
However, Abakaliki FC has been fined N500,000 for improper interference by their chairman and officials in the technical areas, as well as an additional N500,000 for allowing an unauthorized individual to wear their official jersey and enter the technical area.
Both teams have 48 hours to appeal the decisions.
