Bendel Insurance FC of Benin, weekend, came from behind to convincingly beat FC One Rockets of Akwa Ibom by three goals to one in Benin.
The Benin Arsenal who suffered an early goal scare in front of their Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, and his Deputy, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu after Pippa Tuoyo had put the visitors in front 28 minutes into the game, responded swiftly with a beautiful drive produced by creative midfielder Matthew Oshoke who was harshly brought down in the box, resulting to a spot-kick which Daniel Johnson confidently converted to douse the tension in the air at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium before half time.
On resumption in the second half, the game looked balanced as the FC Rocket Strike force looked comfortable and effective in the Insurance half until Ogbe made three important substitutions, introducing Meyinwa Oritseweyinmi, Amman Abdulkareem, and Ojo Tolulope who turned the game around for the Benin arsenal.
Substitute Ojo Tolulope (72) and Sarki Ismael’s 84 minutes goals made the difference for the Benard Ogbe led side.
Insurance top strikers Imade Osarenkhoe and Sarki Ismael had wasted several scoring chances within five and twenty minutes of play.
The Benin Arsenal who narrowly lost by 1-0 to Ibom Youth FC last week now have 13 points after seven engagements and will be on the road to Anambra state to face their next opponents Godosky FC in the week nine fixture scheduled for Wednesday.
