Vandrezzer FC Head coach Rafael Everton is excitedly looking forward to the new season, as the Lions settle into their new home after arriving from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, this afternoon.
In a chat with VFC, Everton who is in his second season in charge of the Lions says the mood is even more exciting as the relocation to Lagos is coming days to the league kick-off:
“I’m very happy to come to Lagos, we feel very happy that it’s a few days to the league start.”
“It’s more than one year now since we played a league game. We’re very happy, we are ready when the games come. It’s very good that we’ll get to feel match situations and the players are excitedly looking forward to the first game.”
The 2016 Nigerian Federations Cup-winning coach insists the team is ready to go for the kill in next weekend’s opener against Delta Force next weekend, and also well-motivated to pick the sole qualification ticket from the tricky group VFC have been placed in:
“We have been training together for over three months…with the squad, and environment, we would achieve. We have everything to succeed.
“We respect everyone in the group, but we are here for business…the club brought me here to ensure the promotion and I’m sure we’ll make a good fight to promote the team .”
VFC have been placed in Group B1 of the NNL 2020/21 season alongside Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Giant Brillars of Enugu, Calabar Rovers FC of Cross River State, Dynamite FC of Edo State, Ekiti United, Stationery Stores FC of Lagos, GO Round FC of Omoku, Akajobi FC of Owerri, Nilayo FC of Abeokuta, Nnewi United of Anambra and Match Day 1 opponent, Delta Force.
