The race for promotion to the Nation’s elite league, Nigeria professional football league(NPFL) at the end of the current Nigeria National League campaign in group A2 of the Northern conference hots up this weekend as Kogi United look set to end their winless run at home against Abubakar Bukola Saraki Babes of Ilorin.
The confluence state outfit has been quite impressive on the road this season picking 6 vital points away from home first against Kebbi United and last weekend against G/K Shekarau babes of Kano,a place absolutely difficult for visitors to pick points.
Kogi United FC had lost their first game of the season away at DMD fc of Maiduguri, came back home hoping to take all 3 points against Malumfashi FC without stress but the guys from Katsina state gave their host a very stiff fight and ran away with a point after the game ended goalless.
The Yahaya Bello boys have since picked 6 points on the road while also dropping 3 valuable points at home against Yobe desert stars of Damaturu in their second home game of the season.
This Saturday, Kogi United will get the opportunity to end their winless run at home as they welcome Ilorin-based Abubakar Bukola Saraki Babes to the Lokoja confluence stadium, a must-win match. Victory for Kogi United fc in this encounter will boost their promotion quest with 10 points and will move them up the ladder in group A2.
