Buruj Sports Academy Chairman, Waheed Salaudeen has affirmed the Ikorodu based Club resolution to compete in the Nigeria National League (NNL) 2020/201 season with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development assuring that sporting activity will return soon after several months hiatus occasioned by the ravaging coronavirus pandemic through the Director of Grassroots Sports Department, Dr. Ademola.
We started with the Academy, with that we need to move forward, we deliberately build value and structure into our academy and make it look attractive to investors alongside the exposure of the boys to European tours and engagements, it’s the time to begin to move forward across our borders in competing among the best of the best.”
“With the NNL participation insight, we are starting to build the boys and make them grounded for competitiveness and responsibilities, this is the time for them to wake up with a defining purpose on a daily basis unlike in the academy, there is no going back, it has been decided.”
Waheed further appreciated the patron, Mama Esther Ajayi, Dr. Abass Obesere while also maintaining that now that the team is going into professional, sponsors will surely see the reason why they should come on board as there’s value for their investment.
Reportedly, the Minister is now interfacing with other stakeholders like the PTF and the Ministry of Health for sports to resume.
