With the Nigerian National League still postponed indefinitely, clubs have been involving themselves in lots of friendly matches to keep their players in shape ahead of the league’s resumption.
Niger tornadoes, one of the clubs on course for promotion into the NPFL, earlier today played a friendly match against NAF rocket of Abuja at Area 3 soccer pitch in Abuja.
NAF Rocket are second position in group A1 with 7 points but could not keep up in the friendly as they lost to the tornadoes by 2-1. Abubakar Songubi and Kabir Umar gave the guests the lead with two quick goals in the 21st and 26th minutes of the first half.
The second half was more balanced as both teams missed lots of chances before Yahaya tapped in a well worked goal for the rockets in 65th minute.
Earlier, Niger tornadoes had played a 1-1 draw with FWC CHAMPIONS FC at the same venue and will now face Aklosendi International FC tomorrow in another friendly.
