Bendel Insurance FC will be playing host to wounded Stationery Stores of Lagos tomorrow in the week 5 game of the Nigeria National League (NNL)at the University of Benin Sports Complex.
Both sides are traditional clubs that are no strangers to each other,but are meeting in a competitive league game after a long while. They recently played in a preseason friendly with the Benin Arsenal winning 2-1 at the Agege stadium in Lagos.
Insurance will be going into the week 5 game with the Lagosians with confidence, revelling in their 2-2 away draw at Joy Cometh in week 4 game played last week Thursday in Lagos.
The Benin Arsenal are second on the Group B2 table with seven points from four games after two wins,one draw and a loss to follow table toppers,Crown FC (9 points)who defeated the Stores 2-1 away from home last week.
The 2-1 loss to Crown FC last week has compounded the woes of Stores who are trailing second from the bottom on the log .
The week five NNL game scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm at the University of Benin Sports Complex is the last for both sides before the commencement of a two-week Christmas holiday which begins on Sunday,December 22,2019.
According to the statement earlier released by the NNL media boss,Amar Ignis, league actions are expected to resume on Friday,January 10,2020.
Meanwhile, the Insurance handler Coach Benard Ogbe is optimistic his boys will do Edo and their fans proud Saturday’s game against the visitors from Lagos.
” The game is a crucial one. We are well prepared for it. And we need the full three points to stay on top before the Christmas break to boost our confidence ahead of the week six game at Crown FC( bye) this weekend. ” Ogbe said.
