Dampened morale it was for Collin Edwin SC after losing their first game of the Nationwide League One campaign this season but they have quickly rolled the dice again and turned the corner after picking up their second win on the bounce in their first three games in the league.
One of the goalscorers for Collin Edwin, Orji Martins spoke to Sports247 and describe it as a subject of teamwork from the players.
“It’s a nice game from the team. We did not want to lose that game so it was teamwork. A very good job for the team, we did well and in our next game we’re going to do more as I believe in the players we have,” Martins said.
Losing the first game wasn’t easy but Martins reflects and feels the team has done well to recover from the defeat and go on two straight wins.
“It’s football, you win, lose or draw. But what matters most is picking up in the second game and we got the three points and here we are in the third game, another win. Congratulations to the team,” Martins explained.
With Valiant losing to First Bank FC, that leaves the group very open with Destiny Boys FC the only side to have maximum points leading and many other teams on six points, Martins believe that Tradesafe can still win the league.
“Sure (we can still win the league), definitely. The best team I’ve seen here is this Madiba FC and we’ve defeated them. As for the rest of the teams, with the kind of players we have, definitely we’re going to qualify and I believe my teammates,” the midfielder said.
