A second win on the bounce and First Bank FC are cruising to the top half of the Nationwide League One table from the Sagamu Centre, defeating Valiant FC who have won their first two games and came into the fixture top of the table.
Coach of First Bank FC, Samuel Kehinde Keagan was happy with his side’s performance, stating that they are a very young side. “So far so good, my team is a new team. The boys are very young and I want to emphasize here that the team is a work in progress though our intention is to come here and see how we can take the team to the next level,” he told Sports247’s reporter.
“However, the competition is not easy, there are a couple of teams that are very strong also. The players are showing to me the stuff they’re made up of and that shows that at the youth level, the grassroots football in Nigeria is growing,” he added.
The coach also went on to praise the performance of his opponents, Valiant FC who he called a very good young side, with an entertaining style of play but also felt his tactics were better as football is all about winning.
