The Nationwide League One has seen so many games from different centres and Sports247 spoke with one of the coaches whose side has been doing well in the league from the Ilorin Centre.
Coach Ajibolade Olumide of Remo Stars U19 explained that the NLO is a good platform for players but it’s however stuck with poor officiating as with Nigerian Football in general.
“The NLO for us is a fantastic opportunity for our players to continue their development. It’s a different vibe as we are far away from home, games coming thick and fast and we are loving the experience,” Olumide said.
“Nigerian football is still bedevilled with substandard officiating, and we have face a few situations in the games. However, we have to focus on the most important, how our boys can be elastic, adapt to the challenges and stretch their abilities to get maximum results,” the coach stated.
Prior to the start of the NLO, Remo Stars U19 were top of the table in The Creative Championship League with about three games left to play and also made it to the semi finals of the competition but with the NLO in full force, they next face Ottasolo FC in a bid to pick a ticket into the NNL.
“Ottasolo will be a cagey game, they have got some experienced players that have a a lot of experience. However, we both have played a lot of games in a small time frame so it won’t be as explosive. Nonetheless, we would give our utmost best to come out on top. We are Remo stars, we only aim to win fairly, nothing else,” the vibrant coach said.
