The Ado Ekiti based Nationwide League One side, Phoenix Athletics Sports Club preparations for the new NLO season hits top gear as it is set to wrap up its two- week long trials on Saturday, 9th February, 2019.
According to the team’s head coach, Bolarinwa Idris, the old players are expected to resume training alongside the players selected from the trials, two weeks later.
PASC which has been playing in the Nationwide league since 2016, is renowned for parading the youngest squad in the league with players of average age of 17 years.
” You know we use the league to expose our boys to the real act of footballing, ” Idris said.
” We are actually a football academy that encourages young talents to trust in their abilities while also taking their education seriously,” the young and highly rated football tactician remarked gleefully.
The team recently moved from Ijan Ekiti to Odo Ekiti an outskirt of Ado Ekiti to enable it train at the Crown Polytechnic Sports center.
Idris further disclosed that serene ambience of the educational centre is aimed at ensuring the young players have the opportunity to mix sports and education.
