Assistant coach of Gbagada Football Club, Henry Obi has commended his team despite a 2-0 defeat against Messiah FC in the ongoing nationwide league one NLO.
Deji Alo and Toheeb Lawal’s goal in each half was Messiah needed to condemn their opponents to defeat in a match played on Tuesday afternoon at the Alade sports center, Ipaja Command, Alimosho, Lagos.
Obi in a chat with Sports247 said both teams gave a good account of themselves but noted that the early goal conceded changed the game in favor of their opponents.
“It was a good match and our players gave their best unfortunately we lost to a better side. Messiah got an early goal and they leveraged on it. To say the fact, Messiah played well and deserved the victory,” he said.
Commenting on the performance of Gbagada so far in the league, Obi said the team has done well and gave the players pass marks for their impressive outing.
In his own comment, the team manager of Messiah, Deji Beecroft expressed satisfaction with the victory and also commended the players and coaching crew for the job well done.
