NLO ONE: Coach Olajide Laments Gbagada FC Recent Poor Run Ahead FC Robo Clash

Coach of Nigeria Nationwide League One side, Gbagada FC, Olajide Akinyelu has expressed deep concern about his side’s recent poor run of form after dismal performances against Magic Stars FC and Synergy ULT Sports FC.

According to the gaffer, the club had no business losing the last two games, claiming the team was just unlucky to have conceded goals from set pieces, two penalties against Synergy and a free kick against Magic Stars. Olajide states

“Football can be so cruel. You look at our games with Magic Stars and Synergy , they are games we had no business losing . We didn’t convert our chances and conceded goals from set pieces but we have taken positives from the games.” Olajide told Sports247.ng.

Gbagada FC are yet to convert any chance in thier last three games and had conceded four goals which could be a great concern for the entire club.

Pointing to the reasons to this attacking and defensive woes, coach Olajide reveals he has been having some challenges in these departments, expecially with the back but has soon found remedy to it. ” we were having issues with our back line but we are working on that now” he says. This was boosted by the return of right back, Olawoyin and as well as the return of his midfield marshall, Onalaja.

Gbagada FC currently sit 5th in the NLO group A1 with seven points from six matches played while thier next opponent comfortably sit at the bottom of the table. Coach Olajide is hopeful that his side will take advantage of the moment against the group’s weeping boys by going for a maximum three points come Thursday.
