A final day twist helped third-placed Collin Edwin climb above the top two sides of Group B, Ikenne Centre after winning their game and the top two, Yobo FC and Madiba FC played out a goalless draw. The team now faced unbeaten group Aside, Destiny Boys of Ikorodu in a very tight clash.
Speaking to Sports247 ahead of the game, Seyi Omowo of Destiny Boys told our reporter that the game was going to be a very interesting one. “The game is going to be interesting and I know we’ll win,” he said.
Speaking on his sides unbeaten, the player was not too concerned about how it happened but that his side just had to win the playoff. He shed more light on his role models that help him shape his goals.
“I’m a left-back and also a centre back, because of this my role models are Marcelo and Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid because I love how they play,” he said.
He told fans to expect nothing but a win in the playoff game, good football and an interesting game as well and quite rightly, as his side defeated Collin Edwin to pick up the only available ticket to the NNL from the Ikenne Centre, Ogun State.
