“It was a really tough match,” he began. “Our opponents were a tactical side. They gave us a very good fight in the first half.” Samson affirmed to Sports 247.

Despite the goalless first half, Samson credited their coaches for motivating them during halftime and emphasized the importance of communication among the players.

“During the halftime break, our coaches cheered us and told us to utilize our chances,” he explained.

“In the second half, we communicated with each other and converted all our chances successfully, which is why the goals came in quick succession.”

When asked about the challenges they faced in the first half, Samson admitted to missing a crucial opportunity but found motivation to bounce back as a striker.

“I lost a big chance in the first half,” he admitted. “The composure was not enough. So I had to motivate myself and remember that I am a striker and that I could make a difference.”

Comparing the match to their previous outings, Samson acknowledged the team’s growth and improvement.

“We have played one match, and it was a very poor outing for us. We lost 6 – 1,” he recalled. “So we went back and trained very well.

Our technical team tried for us. They kept building our confidence because playing in the league is a new exposure for us as we are a new team.”

Samson expressed gratitude for the coaching staff’s efforts in building their confidence and highlighted their progress.

“All the boys on the team are new, and we did not even train very well before this tournament,” he said.

“We thank God that we are getting bit by bit with every game, and we are going to get better. This is our second game, and we did not concede. We are trying to gain back all our lost points.”

Looking ahead, Samson remained optimistic about their future performances. “At least we gained some points today to make up for our last game lost,” he said confidently.

“I am sure in the third game; we will do better. We are going to score more goals, and we will get better.” With determination and continuous improvement, Samson and Alim City are poised to make their mark in the league.
