Spartan FC’s goalkeeper and captain, Adamu Azeez Audu, expressed his disappointment following their hard-fought 2-1 loss to Valiant FC in their third Nationwide League One match.
“It was a very bad match that we played this morning,” Audu stated candidly in a post-match interview with Sports 247.

“It’s not easy. But I know in our next match, we’ll keep fighting until we get back our three points.”
When asked about the contrast between their impressive previous matches and the loss to Valiant FC, Audu attributed it to factors such as fatigue or deviation from the coach’s instructions.
However, he remained optimistic about the team’s performance in future matches. “I would say it’s fatigue or we didn’t go with the formation that the coach said we should go with.
But we know our next match will be better,” Audu affirmed.
As the team captain, Audu emphasized the importance of learning from their mistakes and maintaining a positive mindset moving forward.
“We need to go back to our drawing board, all the three matches we played,” he explained.
“We need to go and watch it and see what we lack and what we don’t. We’ll try to correct all our mistakes and improve in the next match.”
Audu’s reflections highlight Spartan FC‘s determination to bounce back from setbacks and improve their performance as they continue their campaign in the Nationwide League One.
