“I’ve always known they are all talented kids,” he remarked. “It’s also like 90% of them are just playing this league for the first time.”

Despite initial challenges, Jay expressed confidence in the team’s ability to improve and build confidence as the season progresses.

“Once they get a grip and build confidence, they will play,” he affirmed.

Highlighting areas for improvement, Jay emphasised the need to convert more scoring opportunities and maintain a clean sheet in future matches.

“Today we created more chances too and we were able to convert three,” he noted. “But we need to keep a clean sheet. We’ve conceded in all the games we’ve played so far.”

Looking ahead to upcoming fixtures, Jay acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the league but emphasised the team’s focus on player development.

“Our objective primarily is to use it to develop the players,” he stated. “We hope to remain focused and continue building towards success.”

Jay’s optimism and strategic approach underscore Collins Edwin FC’s commitment to achieving excellence and nurturing talent in the Nationwide League One tournament.
