The stunning victory at Maracana 2 centre of Lagos zone in the third-tier Nationwide League One (NLO) took Ojodu City clear of the chasing pack on 21 points after six matches, eight digits ahead of their nearest rivals.
It also put them in good stead heading into their next two matches this week – versus Buruj FC on Tuesday and then a clash with joint-second placed, Ooim on Thursday.
With Ooim and Roro FC both far behind on 13 points apiece, Omoebi is of a view that Ojodu City are sure bets for a ticket into the NLO’s promotion play-off and stated delight with his contributions to their surge.
Omoebi began by celebrating his first sizzler of the game and said: “It was a good goal which came from post to post.
“I’m mostly happy because I’ve not been able to find the back of the net for a long time. That’s also why I’m absolutely happy to get a brace.
“From this point, I will keep improving and get a better goal.”
He then spoke about his team’s quest for promotion to the second-tier Nigerian National League (NNL) and reckoned that it would become possible once they keep working hard to win all their remaining matches.
“I also want my team to keep it up; so we can get a ticket to the play-off and be able to get a ticket to the NNL. That’s our dream at Ojodu City,” Omoebi concluded.
