Ahead of the new 2023/24 NLO Division 2 campaign, the goalkeeper for Dosu Joseph Football Academy, Craig Samuel has revealed that the team’s ultimate goal is to earn promotion to Amateur I.
Undoubtedly still fresh in Dosu Joseph Football Academy fan’s memory, they narrowly missed out of promotion last season after a 1-0 play-off defeat against Divine Praise FC.
Beyond the loss and heartbreak, the shot-stopper who is also a national diploma certificate holder in mass communication at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism is looking to reward the fans with a qualification and also some good performances alongside.
“It was a hard one to take last season but the team has been working really hard since that defeat on all fronts, recruitments in key positions and I’m sure that next season, we will promote”, he confidently stated in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng.
On his individual performance last season where he lost his spot to another goalkeeper, he admitted that he has truly not been in form.

“I have not been playing and a lot of people have been complaining although we are there we are all out of our best form. It now depends on the coach to make a selection on his best goalkeeper”.
“I will keep working hard and I hope that with it, I get the top spot back. I was dropped due to bad performances which I acknowledge but I’m really going to bounce back very soon”.
Craig who is bullish for his spot next season allayed that he will train harder as he fights to get his place as the team fights for Amateur I promotion.
