BYT Academical FC manager Richard Obaha has promised that his squad will respond to their narrow 1-0 setback to Emmydinho FC in the Nationwide League One on Monday.
Following a goalless first half, Emmydinho FC seized the lead in the 51st minute on a counterattack. Christopher Amaechi dribbled his way through the opposition’s penalty area before teeing up Ezekiel John for an easy finish, a goal that decided the encounter.
Post-match, BYT management Richard Obaha spoke with Sports247. He had this to say about the outcome of the game. “I think that’s football for you. Not that I’m happy with the loss. We were expecting to at least get a point from the game and not lose at home. I am not happy with the outcome of the game.
“We’re going into our next game to win. We’re not going there to get it wrong because we’ve seen a lot of our lapses here today. We’ll go back home and make sure we make those corrections and see how we’ll get our next game right.”
Obaha also spoke on his club’s ambitions for the season and how they aim to nurture players for the highest levels.
“Our mandate here is to take this team to the NNL. And we’re looking forward to how we’ll sell our players out of the country and the highest league in the country, the NPFL also,” he added.
