Collins Edwin FC head coach, Uchechukwu Ugwu has lauded his team’s performance to pick their first win of the 20222/2023 NLO season following the nervy 2-1 victory against Crime Fighters at the Admiralty stadium today to end their winless run.
Previously before today, Collins Edwin have lost three games out of the three they had played and they knew how crucial the fourth one was against Crime Fighters who are also searching for their first win of the season.
Collins Edwin took the lead just moments into the first half from the penalty spot and added another in quick succession to take a 2-0 lead going into the second half although Crime Fighters got a goal in the second half but it was Collins Edwin that got all maximum three points.
In his post match interview with Sports247.ng, the tactician visibly happy couldn’t hide his excitement after finally finding a breakthrough.
“It feels good to win, this is a team that has been used to wining so you can imagine the pressure we’ve been on irrespective of the fact that most of the boys are inexperienced but I’m sure that the pressure has lifted.”
“Like I said in my last interview that we will get it right, so know, we will start counting our points, our season has just started and I just hope it’s not too late,” he allayed.
Up next for Collins Edwin on matchday five is the game between Zenith Emperor as they look to continue the upward trajectory of form.
