Olumide Ajibolade, head coach of Beyond Limits Football Academy has saluted his players’ doggedness in the wake of their qualification to the Nigeria National League (NNL) in such a circumstance which didn’t look favorable but they gave their all to achieve the team’s ultimate objective.
Beyond Limits FA who are also champions of the 2022/2022 Creative League pummeled First Bank FC 4-1 at the Osogbo Township Stadium on Saturday to book their place ahead of the new season in NNL.
In his interview after the victory as gathered by Sports247.ng, Olumide obviously reeling in excitement lauded the team’s effort amidst a wonderful season.
“I feel very happy not just for me but for the entire academy because, in the short time since our inception, we’ve made progress, we’ve made progress every year, made the play-off every single year, and this year, we were able to cross the line which shows that it’s a different step to the mentality of the boys.”
“That alone is something we can take to the bank because you could see what they did against First Bank FC. They are kids but they dug in, playing in a very difficult pitch and circumstance away from home, that resilience is priceless,” Olumide revered.
“It’s a fantastic season but most important is the real gains, the players making moves abroad and also winning with their team, these are the gains we want and not necessarily the trophies or the podium finishes, it’s all about how these boys can compete at a level higher than our they arrived at Ikenne, it’s an all-around wonderful year for us,” he admitted.
