Crime Fighters head coach, Saturday Ede has conceded that his team needs new addition of players who can help them compete well ahead of next season after they picked thier first win of the NLO 2022/2023 season in the win against Zenith Emperor.
After an underwhelming beginning to the season where they have lost six games in a row out of seven, with just a draw, Crime Fighters got themselves a relegation lifeline as they secured a 3-1 win against struggling Zenith Emperor today at the Surulere Legacy Pitch stadium.
“It’s a very great day for us today, will this while we have been finding it difficult and it’s not that we aren’t playing well but sometimes, football is a game of luck but today’s was a great one for us to get the victory and we did got it,” an excited Saturday said in his post match interview with Sports247.ng.
“Normally when you add one plus one, it gives you two but sometimes, one plus might not be the same with another person. So we have seen the whole team, watched them and decided to make amendments for us to get this win and we want to continue in next game.”
“Throughout the whole league, we are happy because in some past seasons, we will be asked to pay money for field, referees, we don’t know the people who sponsored it but now, we spend less because some people have taken up that burden.”
“For any chance of promotion to the NNL, we have to look for more players because national league is not a joke, there’s difference between an ordinary player and league player. I have seen it all through, we are going to fortify the team next season for us to be a contender,” he admitted.
With the result, Crime Fighters now have four points in seven games going into the next game while Zenith Emperor winless run continues.
