Buruj FC has made history after 13yr Old midfield sensation Raheem Salaudeen becomes the youngest player to make league appearance after coming on as sub in the loss against Lekki United.
Despite the 4-0 loss, Buruj FC still have a lot of positives to take for themselves with the Ikorodu based club parading the youngest team in the Nigeria 3rd tier league.
Sports247.ng caught up with the sensational Raheem Salaudeen, a 13-year-old lad after the game to talk all about how he feels making this history.
Raheem described his first experience playing in the Nationwide league as a positive one, stating that he enjoyed it.
“It’s such a good feeling and I don’t feel odd, this isn’t the first time playing with the seniors, so, I’m used to the kicks and e everything that comes with it.”
When asked if he felt intimidated playing alongside older players, Raheem confidently responded that he was not afraid.
He further explained that he had been playing with seniors since he was 8 years old, and as a result, he has gained the necessary experience.
Raheem expressed his appreciation to his father for providing him with the opportunity and exposure to football.
His ultimate goal is to score over 100 goals for his team before making it to the national team as he looks up to his elder brother as a role model.
