Having played a lot of games so far in The Creative Championship League and TCC Cup, Gbagada FC have continued to prepare themselves for the Nationwide League One and the Lagos State FA Cup.
Gbagada FC pulled through to the semi-final of the TCC Cup after playing a draw with Imperial FC of Ikenne which saw them win on aggregate 2-1 and the coach has accepted the win irrespective of how it came.
“It’s what we worked towards and we’re glad we achieved it. The win in Ikenne handed us this ticket even though I’m not too satisfied with the team’s performance over two legs but they got the job done and that’s the most important thing,” said Coach Akinyelu.
With the new format of the NLO prepared for already, the coach has said the TCC games will help prepare the team for the NLO and the FA cup
“It’s not too much to ask. We have enough to try and fight for promotion. It’s (NLO) a competition that we know that if you start well it will give u momentum and by the time the NLO starts, we’ll be fully ready to go,” he commented.
Gbagada FC next shifts focus back to The Creative Championship League when they face Imperial in the return fixture of the League as they look to climb up the ladder.
