It’s four games without a win for Chariot of Fire FC and with two games left in the group, it’s looking like promotion is slipping away if it already hasn’t as Chariot of Fire lost 4-2 to Athletic Business FC in the Nationwide League One Division Two.
Coach of the side Nkechi Ndu Itam, who is an ex-international, played for the Super Falcons at the 1991 & 1995 World Cup, explained to Sports247 that defensive errors cost his side and he’s also hopeful of picking points in the games left.
“Quite alright we ought to win but due to some errors from the defenders that led to us conceding the goal. I believe in the two games left we’ll pick a point,” the coach said.
The coach also talked about the very young and industrious Number 11 for the side who is amongst the youngest player in the league this season, explaining that he’s a player he groomed from a very tender age.
“Kehinde Afolabi is fifteen years old and he’s a player I trained from a very young age. The parents know me very well and he’s always obedient and attentive, always listening to instructions in training. So at the start of the NLO, I decided to bring in him to showcase his talent because I believe scouts and agents can come around, see him and take him to better clubs outside the country or to the national teams,” coach Nkechi explained.
