After a poor start to the league for Liqui Moly, losing 3-2 to Phil FC in the first game, the team has gone on to win its next two games while also setting a record for the fastest goal scored in the league.
Record goalscorer, Olisegbu Chidera scored in 36 seconds to put his side ahead and ended the game with a brace as his side ran out 3-1 winners over Synergy FC
“I’m grateful for the goal. I was looking forward to just one but I got two and I’m proud of my performance,” Chidera told Sports247 after the game.
Chidera was part of the team squad who played in the NLO Division One previously but failed to get a game under his belt but has definitely carved his name in the history books of the NLO 2 with his record fastest goal.
“My target is to play in Europe, that’s where I want to play my football, especially in England or Germany because that’s where my mentors are. Lewandowski and Bruno Fernandes are two players that motivate me,” the striker added.
“I also dream of being one of the best strikers in Nigeria and I dedicate the goals today to my late grandmum for all her support since my childhood,” he added.
