In the event that the National Assembly and the federal administration do not agree to the proposed minimum wage by Tuesday at midnight, organized labor announced that it would meet again to decide whether to resume the postponed strike.
This was revealed by Chris Onyeka, the Assistant General Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)
Under the aegis of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Nigerian laborers called off their one-week strike to allow for the resumption of discussions with the government about minimum wage negotiations.
The labor department’s one-week ultimatum to the federal government will end at midnight on Tuesday.
The federal government raised its offer from N60,000 to N62,000 during the Tripartite Committee on New Minimum Wage’s most recent meeting, which took place in Abuja on Friday.
Labor decreased their demand from N494,000 to N250,000.
