NIS/ LSFA Special Training Course For Lagos State Coaches Kicks Off At NIS

Saturday, September 14, 2024 will go down in the history of football development in Nigeria and particularly, Lagos State as Lagos State Football Association(LSFA) in collaboration with Nigeria Institute For Sports (NIS), started somewhat of a football revolution, aimed at improving the knowledge and technical wherewithal of football coaches in Lagos State.

The special training course for the coaches, which aims to train over 3,000 grassroots football coaches in a couple of years, began Saturday morning at NIS, with a first batch of 100 coaches in the opening session.

Former Flying Eagles and U23 coach, Fatai Amoo, ex-Nigeria international Dele Aiyenugba and Director-General of NIS, Professor Olawale Moronkola took turns to take the highly excited coaches through practical and theoretical sessions.

The one-month special training course which will hold every Saturday, will have another set of 100 coaches also taking the same course next and with the last batch getting their turn in December.

The NIS/LSFA special training course is a necessary certification before any football coach is licensed by the Lagos FA to operate in the state.
