Engineer Musa Nimrod has been re-elected as President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), securing another four-year term and promising to usher in a new era of growth for the sport in the country.
Returning for his third tenure, Nimrod pledged to introduce fresh initiatives aimed at raising volleyball’s profile nationally and internationally. “We are not going to relax,” he said after his victory. “The next four years will focus on grassroots expansion, mentorship from experienced coaches, and securing corporate sponsorships to fund our ambitious programmes.”

One of Nimrod’s top priorities is grassroots development, with plans to introduce more structured competitions at school and local government levels. “If we want to dominate in Africa and compete globally, we must start from the base,” he explained.
He also highlighted the importance of mentorship, calling on retired and experienced coaches to guide the next generation. “The knowledge of our seasoned coaches must not go to waste. We will integrate them into our system to nurture talent.”
Nimrod further revealed that talks are ongoing with potential sponsors to inject funding into the federation’s activities. “Without financial support, no sport can thrive. We will work with corporate partners to ensure volleyball becomes one of Nigeria’s major sports,” he noted.
His re-election has been met with optimism by stakeholders who believe continuity will help consolidate past achievements. Under Nimrod’s leadership, Nigeria’s youth teams have qualified for continental tournaments, and he has vowed to push further into world championships.
With his fresh mandate, the NVBF boss is setting bold targets: more exposure for young players, competitive leagues, and a stronger international presence. “Nigeria must not just participate — we must compete to win,” Nimrod declared.
