The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimord on Monday called for collaboration, unity of purpose, love and collective will for the advancement of volleyball in Nigeria.
The president stated this during his broadcast on the occasion of Nigeria’s 58th Independence anniversary in Kaduna.
He said the game is a family one and this has been proven to be true in Nigeria following their collective commitment and determination to host the continent last September.
“The U21 Boys Africa Nation Cup Championship held in Abuja, we did it together. Volleyball as they always say is a family game. We are a family and have proved this through collective commitment and determination to host the continent at a time when many doubted the position of volleyball in Nigeria,” he said.
Nimrod further said, “There is nothing we can do to pay you back for the sacrifice of your time, energy and resources in making this great event a success other than to uphold the dream we shared together. We have proved that together we can achieve greatness. All your efforts and goodwill will not be in vain as this championship is a watershed for many other such hosting Rights for Nigeria.”
He noted that the Confederation of Africa Volleyball (CAVB) sent their goodwill to the country and the volleyball fraternity.
“The CAVB President and other Control Committee members expressed their satisfaction and a letter of congratulation has since been sent to the Federation and also expressed their goodwill to all involved in the organization of the event. I wish to say thank you and remain blessed.
“I therefore call for more collaboration, unity of purpose, love and collective will, for the advancement of volleyball in Nigeria. I believe in you all,” he ended.
