In the wake of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed that the designated funds from FIFA, earmarked for the Super Falcons’ players, have yet to be received.
Following their impressive journey to the second round of the tournament, jointly held in Australia and New Zealand, each member of the Super Falcons’ squad is entitled to a substantial $60,000 (N46 million) bonus, as per tournament regulations.
Spain clinched victory in the competition, netting a lone goal that sealed the Women’s World Cup on August 20th in Sydney. Addressing the issue of the Super Falcons’ outstanding entitlements, Ademola Olajire, the NFF’s Director of Media, clarified that all players’ dues had been settled prior to the World Cup’s kickoff.
However, the actual distribution of these dues hinges on FIFA’s release of the designated funds, which will subsequently ensure that players receive their rightful bonuses.

Notably, the Super Falcons displayed remarkable prowess, remaining undefeated in their four regulation-time matches.
The team’s journey included an exhilarating victory against co-hosts Australia and draws against Olympic champions Canada, Ireland, and European champions England.
