Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state has departed the country for the 10th FASU All Africa University Games to be held in Kenayatta University, Nairobi, Kenya.
UNIZIK will be Nigeria’s representative in the female football event at the games that was not held in 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The school’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone and his wife saw the team off to the Akanu Ibiam international airport in Enugu as the team boarded off to Kenya.
UNIZIK will feature at the games with 18 athletes to be guided by 4 officials at the biennial event.
The All Africa University Games that was once hosted by Nigeria in 2004 will be held between 6th and 10th June 2022.
