Amidst online banter and social media trolls following his appointment and inauguration, Nigeria’s newly appointed Sports Minister, John Enoh, has come forward to reveal his footballing roots.

The 57-year-old minister, hailing from the Agbokim Waterfall community of Cross River State, disclosed that he once pursued a football career, drawing on this experience to emphasize his competence in his new role.
Taking over the reins from Honourable Sunday Dare, John Enoh is now the 36th Nigerian Minister of Sports. He spoke openly about his prior engagement with football, which he believed underscored his qualifications for his current position.
Enoh acknowledged his footballing past and shared that former teammates reached out to remind him of their shared playing days upon hearing of his appointment.
