Nigeria’s Junior Female Yellow Greens delivered a commanding seven-wicket victory over Scotland in their final warm-up match ahead of the 2025 ICC Women’s U-19 World Cup.
The match, held at the Royal Selangor Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, showcased a dominant all-round performance led by captain Lucky Piety.

Winning the toss and opting to field, Nigeria’s bowlers dismantled Scotland, restricting them to a meager 62 runs in 18.2 overs.
Lillian Ude was the star with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Shola Adekunle added two. Kehinde Amusa, Peace Usen, and Lucky Piety chipped in with one wicket each, ensuring the Scots struggled to build any momentum.
In response, Piety spearheaded Nigeria’s chase, smashing an unbeaten 28 off 16 balls, including three sixes. Victory Igbinedion added a crucial 25 runs, securing a comfortable win for the team.
This victory comes on the heels of a near-upset against eighth-ranked Pakistan, signaling Nigeria’s intent to compete on the global stage.
The team begins their World Cup campaign on Saturday, January 18, against debutants Samoa at the Borneo Cricket Ground in Kuching, Malaysia.
They will face New Zealand on Monday, January 20, before concluding the group stage against South Africa on Wednesday, January 22.
