Nigeria’s handball senior team are 46th in the world and sixth in Africa, as contained in the latest global and continental figures released by International Handball Federation (IHF).
Sports247.ng learnt that the junior team are 38th in the World and 4th in Africa, but the under-18 male and female teams were not ranked due to the lull in activities during the past year.
The U20 team qualified for the Junior World Cup in Spain after finishing in third position at the Africa Junior Nations Cup in Marrakesh Morocco.
The top five male African teams are: Egypt (15th in the world), Tunisia (17th in the world), Algeria (21st in the world), Morocco (35th in the world) and Angola (42nd in the world).
For the ladies, Egypt maintain number one spot in Africa and seventh in the world, while Tunisia and Algeria are second and third in Africa.
They are also 17th and 25th in the world with 1,447 and 1,425 points respectively, Angola is fifth in Africa and 43rd position in the World.
