Nigeria’s burgeoning presence in the global sports arena continues to expand as the Sambo Association of Nigeria (SAN) announces its formidable squad set to grace the 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana from March 8 to 23.

Spearheading the Nigerian contingent is seasoned athlete Jonah Kajido, whose 79kg stature epitomizes strength and determination.
Accompanying Kajido are James Chegwam (58kg), Fatima Jonah Ogbonyomi (65kg), and Charity Jatau (59kg), completing the quartet of skilled representatives handpicked by SAN Vice President, Sheriff Hammed.

“This milestone marks the inaugural inclusion of Sambo in the African Games, underscoring its rising prominence worldwide,” Hammed notes. “Nigeria, with its rich sporting heritage, must seize this opportunity to shine brightly amongst its African counterparts.”
