Nigerian rugby national team, Black stallion Ntiense Okon Williams has revealed to sports247.ng that Rugby Africa will on Wednesday, October 10 decide Nigeria’s fate for a slot in the All Africa Games.
Williams said the administrative rugby union in the continent will take their decision at a meeting in Morocco, to determine Nigeria’s participation.
The Stallions’ participation at the Bronze Cup and the Olympic qualifiers will also be decided same day, after Nigeria placed second in the recent Rugby Seven’s tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.
Williams, though, said he is very optimistic that the meeting will favor the country, since he recalls that Nigeria received many plaudits from the last competition.
He expatiated: “Nigeria was adjudged the best rugby team at the tournament and the number of teams to participate in the next All Africa Games has increased from twelve to sixteen.
“This should give us an opportunity for us to get the nod. I am sure that The Black Stallions will be part of the four teams.”
