Nigerian Football Leagues to be cancelled if…

With recent reports saying that seventeen of the twenty NPFL clubs voted for the season to be cancelled, there is a probability that the other football leagues in the country will suffer the same fate.

Just like the Nigerian Professional Football League, the Nigerian Women Football League, Nigerian National League and the NLO had all been postponed indefinitely due to the corona virus pandemic.

Last week, the special adviser on media to the Minister of Youth and Sports development, John Joshua Akanji had disclosed to Sports247 that “a committee had been set up after the minister met with NFF and LMC top officers to critically look into how the leagues can restart and what ever decision is taken, affects the other leagues in the country.”

According to a statement released by Alloy Chukwuemeka, executive secretary, Chairman Club Owners Association of Nigeria, NPFL clubs on Sunday evening voted on how the league should be ended.
