Two of Nigeria’s prominent businessmen and billionaires were among the fans, stars, administrators and dignitaries that graced the 2018 FIFA Best Awards held in London last night.
Although no Nigerian featured on the list of awardees, that did not Nigerian football lovers from attending the event. Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote and fellow business magnate, Femi Otedola attended the event.
They were accompanied by one of Nigeria’s showbiz personality, Cecil Hammond. The award saw Croatia international and Real Madrid midfielder, Luca Modric clinch the World footballer of the year award for the first anyone would win the award beside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Mohammed Salah Was the only African who went home with an award having won the puskas award for the best goal of the year.
