Self-defense is in high demand in Nigeria and Ibrahim Isa, Founder of Young stars martial art academy Nigeria Limited, has decided to empower kids on the importance of martial arts and also promote sports development in the country.
“We train street combat, bare hands self-defense, Kung Fu and some common martial arts skills like Judo, Jijutsu so and to enable them to defend themselves in trouble before security agencies arrived to take away the culprit,” Ibrahim Isa told Sports247.
“In Kung Fu federation, we have movement and combat aspect, we train both aspects as I bring up the students and distribute them to various states when needed for sports occasions and we have a lot of champions from this school,” he added.
The founder also appealed to the sports minister and private companies to support the athletes financially as it’s the biggest burden they face.
“We have a lot of talented young men who need support. Many have the zeal to train but no financial support which affects their diet and morale. So I’ll say, if we have a company that can be responsible for the athletes, Nigeria will have the best fighters,” Ibrahim said.
